Apparently, we are going to be grandparents. Ready or not! I am most definently ready, and Bob is fighting the whole idea (with a subtle smile). Now, that Cortney and BabyKentfiled are blogging their journey I have been pulled back in to this blog I started last spring.
As for becoming a grandma...I am excited about it. I just wish Cortney lived closer to us so that I could help her out when she's not feeling so great. Secretley, I am hoping a hurricane chases them up to Michigan so I can see them. Gustov chased them to Tennessee for a week, but it sounds like Ike may chase them back "home". I can only hope.........but I truly do not wish for a hurricane. What chaos all of this is causing the people of the Gulf area.

Literacy Through Photography Show
Having cameras in the classroom has been an incredible experience. The students were so excited and motivated about each activity. In the end students made a poster showing off 8 or 9 photos. They were also allowed to pick their favorite photo and have it enlarged. Here are some of the displays from our "LTP Gallery Night" at the school. The children were so proud. Please scroll down to see a couple of photos from the show.

Sarah's Exciting News
I am so excited for and proud of Sarah!! After graduation she will be joining the Appalachia Service Project for one year. This is even a paid position. I guess the past seven years of her volunteer work for ASP has been for a purpose greater than we ever really knew. I think this is a perfect fit for Sarah and for ASP. Listen up!
Okay, so I went to a techie conference thinking I knew something about technology.......boy was I wrong, or should I say.......novice, for lack of a better word, other than idiot! I left with my head spinning, and more questions than answers. It was fabulous to see all of the wonderful possibilities that are out there for my students to experience. I want to be able to share all of these amazing things with them, but first I must figure it all out. So, here I am trying to figure out this world of blogging, much to my daughter Sarah's dismay. She has been selected to teach her mum about this world. By they way she gave my blog its title, as if I talk a lot or something.
